What Is an Automatic Chain Welding Machine? How Does It Work?

2026-06-02

The automatic chain welding machine uses secondary electric resistance welding (resistance heating with a secondary current) to weld low carbon alloy steel chains. It controls 19 operations – including chain link conveying, rotation, welding, upsetting, and deburring – through an encoder and a PLC, producing welded round steel chains.

Our Products – Hangzhou Polywin Machinery Co., Ltd.
The automatic chain welding machines manufactured by Hangzhou Polywin Machinery Co., Ltd. are developed based on advanced German technology and our own improvements. They are controlled by an Omron encoder and a Siemens or Mitsubishi PLC, and can be operated manually, semi automatically, or fully automatically.
These machines are primarily used for welding high strength lifting chains and hoist chains, mining chains, lashing chains and are also suitable for welding other round link chains such as tire chains, anti-skid chain, elevator compensation chain, achieving Grade 80 to Grade 100 quality levels.

Sensors are installed on all core actions (rotary positioning, conveying, feeding, secondary upsetting, left pushing, right pushing, etc.) as well as the transformer, motor, and welding current controller. These sensors ensure that each action is completed before the machine proceeds to the next step, protecting the electrical components and ensuring normal operation. In the event of a fault, the machine automatically stops, making operation more convenient and reliable for users while enhancing the overall automation level of the equipment.
